Back on Fire Watch

I had to get the family away for a bit, but we are back now. It seems there is a steady stream of names and locations where houses have been lost. I am so thankful that no lives have been lost in this. Houses can be rebuilt.

Rim Schools have been officially closed for next week (through Nov. 2), but hopefully we will be getting back soon after. I still have no word on when "The Diary of Anne Frank" will be able to perform, but I will get that info to you as soon as I know. Many of you, in your phone calls and emails, sound very determined to get the show up. I am impressed by your courage and dedication, especially at this tough time.

Feel free to add comments to these posts; it's a great way to keep in touch with everyone. (Just click 'comment'. You can do it!)

Stay safe,
JS

I think that we should still do the show, because it means alot to every one of us we put time, energy, and soul into trying to make this play an event to be remembered. Even if only one person goes to the show it still would be worth it because that one person had a glimpse of what life was like for ten extraordinary people. We have a very specil chance to do something with this play, we get to show a community and ourselves what it is like to persevere through events that aren't in our control, we get to show them the fear, the relief, and the love each of us has felt during this past week. We have a once in a lifetime chance to do something that shows who we are as people, friends, family members, students, and everything else you could conceivably think of we have this one chance to show what it means to have pride in something against the odds that are overwelming. So I want to ask all of you to take this chance to do this "play" (It isn't truly a play or preformance anymore but something more profound and much more important). I hope all of you are safe with your families and I hope to see all of you very soon.

Love,
IX

As I was packing up to be evacuated,I felt very much "in character" and being rounded up to go to the Holocaust. I know this is a weird thing to say,but I FINALLY understood what Mr.Smith means by "surviving" and "this is your life on the line". I think I needed this because I feel I can perform my part and maybe try to get a feel of what it's like to not know where to go or what to do.I hope you all are safe and reading your scripts! :] Take care, all!

From Madeline G.--
"OK, so alot of people have been telling me that they are still wanting to open the show when we return to school. I agree. I know that even if only one person shows up, that it wiil still be worth it. We owe it to ourselves, and to the community to do this show about people who came together in extraordinary circumstances. And even though we have nothing in common with those people, we still need to do this preformance to prove that we can deal with the hardships of life. Because if we run away now what will we have to show for all of our hard work? just some lives in ruin? nothing more... We have to do the show for these people whos lives we care so much about. We owe it to their memory. This show exemplifies what HARDSHIP means. And what people do when they pull together in order to get by. I want all of us come together as a family, as students, and as a troope and show the mountain, the Jewish Community, and everyone that has lost something in these last couple weeks how family and friends can get you through the toughest of disasters.
Hope your doing well, happy to hear the family is ok. Stay safe. Love you."

..Remember " No matter how hard the times, or how long the separation...Our liberation is near.."

Hey everyone! It's Morgan, just wanted to say i'm so glad everyone is safe, and that I firmly believe in doing this show. I think it will especially mean a lot to the community now, after so many of us have lost so much. I think it would honor Anne's memory even more. Anyone and everyone let me know what's going on so we can get back to our show!
